German numbers from 1 to 20

What time is it? How much are the apples? What's the address to the hotel? What does ‘zehn’ mean in German? Numbers are a very important part of our communication system and should be one of the first vocabulary items learned when studying a foreign language. Whether you are telling the time, shopping, looking for an address, making a phone call, paying the bill in a restaurant, riding the train, etc., knowing your numbers in German will be tremendously helpful. We’ve created this handy little exercise of German numbers from 1 to 20 for students who are new to learning German. Try our exercises to see if you really know how to deal with them. In this lesson we will learn how to pronounce from 1 to 20 numbers in German with the help of flashcards. For your better understanding we have also implemented audio clips within the flashcards in mp3 format. All words and sentences are spoken by real German natives and this helps you in learning the correct pronunciation. You need not memorize every single one once you have the patterns down. Once you memorize number 1-20 in German and the numbers by 10's from 20-100, as the numbers 0 to 20 build the basis for all German numbers. In German, the numbers from 13-19 are built by placing the word for a number and then adding the –zehn (the word for 10) to the end of it You can formulate any number in between from a pattern!
